About Mukuru Alliance

Mukuru Alliance is a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO), operating in the informal settlements of Mukuru in Nairobi, Kenya. Our mission is to empower individuals and families through accessible education, health programs, economic opportunities, and sustainable community development. The organization is legally registered with the Department of Social Development.

Founded by Jone Muindu, Mukuru Alliance began its grassroots work through local churches and schools, quickly expanding to meet the diverse and pressing needs of vulnerable youth and families. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by slum communities, Mukuru Alliance blends compassion, innovation, and local leadership to create impactful programs and events.

Our Core Pillars

Our Key Programs and Events

Mukuru Alliance runs several high-impact programs throughout the year to mobilize resources, inspire hope, and serve the people of Mukuru:

Our Structure and Reach

Mukuru Alliance is driven by a committed team of 6 full-time staff and 10 volunteers. Our leadership team includes a Director, Secretary, Programs Lead, Finance Officer, and Department Heads who coordinate various initiatives across the slums. Staff are supported through a structured welfare plan and transparent financial management.

In 2024, we reached over 500 youth in churches and schools through mentorship, awareness sessions, and collaborative events. Our presence is growing, and we have begun strategic partnerships with organizations, universities, and corporates to strengthen our long-term impact.

Our Vision

Mukuru Alliance envisions a thriving Mukuru where every child and youth has access to education, opportunity, and dignity. Our flagship development goal is to acquire land and construct the Mukuru Library & Community Hub—a permanent space to host a library, digital training center, youth programs, instrumental learning, and community events.

Fundraising for this dream is ongoing through our M-Changa and Pesapal donation platforms, as well as through corporate sponsorships and community-based fundraising campaigns like the Mukuru Charity Marathon.

Join the Movement

We invite well-wishers, NGOs, corporates, academic institutions, and community leaders to walk this journey with us. Whether through donations, training, volunteering, or sponsorship, your involvement helps us build a stronger future for Mukuru.
